The 4 Different Types Of Cables
There are 4 types of cables used all around theatre that provide power to everything from lights to props.
These range from 13A to 16A with 13A being the least power, and 16A being the highest power. There is also DMX which transfers data.
13A Cable
This cable is a basic UK plug mainly used for low power things like home appliances or electronics.
15A Cable
15A cables are used for some lights throughout theatre but they are not as common as 16A cables.
16A Cable
The 16A Cable are mostly used for automated fixtures as they have not just the light to power but also gobos
DMX
A DMX cable is used to transfer data between different fixtures telling them what to do
