What Is Sound
Sound is the vibrations that allow us to hear. Our eardrum then vibrates and translates the information to the brain via the cochlea. Sound is everywhere, different places have different sounds. It is communication we create sound from our voice box and vocal cords to produce sound waves and that is the way we communicate.
Human Hearing
Our ears can detect sounds between 20Hz and 20000Hz. In decibels humans can detect sounds from 0dB and 85dB, anything over 80dB is damaging to the ear.
Measuring
We measure sound with dB (decibels) and that is the loudness of the sound. We also measure the frequency with Hz (hertz) and that is the cycles of sound per second
